Thomas Grube
Born in 1971 in Berlin. Studied political science and Eastern European studies at the Freie Universität Berlin as well as film and television economics at the College of Film and Television HFF Potsdam-Babelsberg. In 1993 he founded his first production company Memphis productions where he produced and directed short films and documentaries. In 1997 he founded the directors label „grube & dierks“ together with partner Uwe Dierks and continued to direct documentaries. In 1999 together with partners Andrea Thilo and Uwe Dierks he is co-founder of BOOMTOWNMEDIA, where he is responsible as head of development and production and continues working as author and diretor of several documentaries and music-programs. For his last cinema film RHYTHM IS IT!, he received the German Film Award 2005 for best documentary and the Bayerischer Filmpreis 2004.
